Here you will find information about current Union Negotiations and the City of San Jose's current budget crisis. The most current documents will be posted at the top of the page.  You must be a full dues paying member to vote on proposed contracts – If you are just paying agency fee, then please see the Become a member! page and bring the application to any Union meeting.  

 


MEF is deep into contract negotiations with the City.  The Union and Management have traded numerous packages.  Your union will be asking you to take specific actions to support the negotiation team and committee.  The contract expires on June 30.  To keep you up to date on the negotiation process, Union Leadership will be holding several meetings:

Survey 2005 - MEF will be starting contract negotiations in April. Union negotiators rely on input from you - the membership - to make decisions while bargaining with the City. Click on the link above to download the MEF Contract Negotiations Survey 2005. After you complete the survey, please print it and return it to a Union representative, mail it to the Union office, or bring it with you to the membership meeting on March 10, 2005. Your input is essential for successful contract negotiations.
